4/7-Another week of outdoor wraps up and we had a lot of our teams out at the ALAH Invitational. Tuscola won this meet putting up some good performances. Shelbyville was not there unfortunately or we would've seen a fight between these 2 top teams. Clinton still has not gotten an outdoor meet in, but will Tuesday at Maroa. Scores have stayed mostly the same this week. Some good performances were Lia Patterson running her first 100 of the season in an impressive 12.6, Tessa Bowers running a 5:16 1600 at home, and Aly Douglass running a 64 400. 3/31-As the outdoor season starts we get to see some improved times; although, this may have a good amount of exceptions though as the weather hasn't been the best. All teams except Clinton have ran an outdoor meet. The scores are similar to last week, but Clinton fell, part of which is because of not running a meet causing them to miss out on several events. Though I am not trying to discredit Warrensburg, they have taken a leap up, especially caused by discus throwers Brenna Dutcher and Emma Whightstil. As for some track performances Shelbyville's distance duo, Lily Woolery and Tessa Bowers, ran 2:18 in the 800 and 5:22 in the 1600. This next week should be a lot better with the weather, and because of that, we should see improved performances.

3/24-The wait is finally over, we're a little late to the girls track season but "better late than never". Jumping straight into it Tuscola junior Lia Patterson leads the conference in sprints and hurdles, finishing 2nd in the 200 and 60 hurdles at top times. Outside of her though the conference is rather weak on the sprints side. Some notable sprinters are Rylie Vanuasdoll, Tuscola junior; Jessie Neilson, CAM sophomore; Erin Jay, Warrensburg junior; Chloe Bowden, Tuscola sophomore; and looking towards the future Journee Benson, Clinton freshmen, has plenty of potential to be leading the conference in a few years. Mid-distance and distance-wise Shelbyville dominates, sophomore Tessa Bowers, junior Lily Woolery, senior Anna Tynan, and senior Caroline White lead them, their competition includes Clinton's senior duo Makayla Koeppel and Addie Koritz, and juniors Amerie Hemphill and Lydia Cahill, Warrensburg's junior Julia Cushing, and arguably the best distance runner in the conference Tuscola's sophomore Kate Foltz. She finished 3rd and 5th in the 3200 and 1600 at Top Times, Shelbyville got 2nd in the 4x8, two of those runners ran individually, Tessa Bowers 2:24 for 9th in the 800, and Lily Woolery 1:00.45 for 4th in the 400. Solid hurdlers outside of Lia Patterson are Shelbyville's junior Maisie Kull, Clinton's senior Carly Reynolds, and CAM's sophomore Lyndi Woods. The top 3 high jumpers are Shelbyville's freshman Ava Tucker, Meridian's sophomore Nora Roush, and Clinton's junior Amerie Hemphill. Rylie Vanuasdoll, Tuscola junior, is the best horizontal jumper in the conference, leading long and triple, though Shelbyville's Maisie Kull and Meredith Chambers can give her fits in both. The triple jump showdown should be interesting as Vanuasdoll finished 3rd at top times versus Chambers 7th. Seniors Adalynn Miller and Emily Duckett lead vaults for Shelbyville. Throwing is led by Tuscola senior Natalie Hasting, other than that Warrensburg has the other frontrunners. The scores are similar to the boys with Shelbyville first, Tuscola 18 points back, and Clinton 17 points back from them, Warrensburg Meridian and CAM are all very tight on the lower side.
